Parent and community involvement in schools is critical to student success, but too many parents and other members of the community do not feel that their participation is welcome in Chicago Public Schools. SOUL is working to increase parent and community involvement in schools, particularly low-performing schools. Through this process, SOUL is piloting a "community-led transformation" model that draws on parent and community knowledge to move school improvements and hold school officials accountable.
